Crater of Diamonds keeps cranking them out

Chad Johnson, who moved to Murfreesboro in February, nearly tossed a 4.38 carat, tea colored diamond. Johnson stowed his equipment after a weekend of sifting for diamonds and didn’t notice the cube shaped diamond until Monday.
The diamond, making approximately 80 that he has found since moving to Arkansas, is the second largest found this year. [...]

Quebec may get first diamond mine

An independent valuation of a bulk sample of diamonds dug from the Renard project, owned by Stornoway Diamond Corp., said most of the gems could be worth more than $100 (U.S.) a carat.

Diamond exploration in Australia plummets

The hunt for diamonds in Australia has plummeted, despite a world shortage, and increasing prices. It is thought just five companies are actively looking for diamonds, although Australian explorers are flocking overseas to look in Africa and elsewhere.
