Blue Diamond sets new record at auction

An internally flawless, 6.04 carat, blue diamond sold for $7.8 million at a Sotheby’s auction held in Hong Kong becoming the most expensive diamond in the world.

Moussaieff Jewellers, a London Jeweler, acquired the diamond with a bid of $1.32 million per carat smashing a 20 year old record set by a red diamond which drew a price of $926,000.
